Exploring Science (New!) – 6th-8th Grade

Joining us in this educational adventure is my husband, Paul Hass! Through AK Exploring Science, Mr. Hass will be an Anchorage School District approved vendor.

To learn more about this instructor, check out his bio!
Here Paul, as a volunteer for his church, is demonstrating a science project on DENSITY as a part of the K-2nd Grade Bible Study.

This is just a summary of what classes entail, subject to change based on the abilities of specific students in the class and the pacing of the subject lessons as they are happening.

Mondays and Wednesdays.  Off during holidays that fall on a Monday.

6th Grade – 12:00 pm – 1:15 pm
7th Grade – 9:00 am – 10:15 am
8th Grade – 10:15 am – 11:30 am

One of the requests made of Paul if he wanted to teach at our program was to do classroom science projects and hands-on activities. And that’s exactly what we hope to deliver while meeting NGSS Standards. At each grade level, students will work in small groups and apply text book knowledge to hands-on experience (safely!) while mastering the scientific process. Alaska Homeschool Classes is proud to partner with it’s science instructors to put on a program-wide Science Fair in the 3rd quarter and students enrolled in 6th-8th grade science will not only be confident for this activity but also well prepared for the State Science Fair at the end of March.

Possible topics covered include:

  • Cells
  • Biology
  • Anatomy
  • Astronomy
  • Physical Science
  • Ecology

Supply list for the class will be emailed with confirmation of enrollment.

We look forward to Exploring Science with you!

Registration is open for the 2019-2020 school year.
